Fourth Annual Spay-Ghetti dinner to be held on February 28

Details are set for the fourth annual SPAYghetti dinner to be held Tuesday night, February 28, at the X Factor Grill. Bryan Westmoreland will, once again, provide his delicious take on SPAY-ghetti while the diners are entertained by Shadow Mountain Band. Local businesses have been asked to provide door prizes.

The art raffle,  begun last year with the generous donation from Sabrina Taylor, will continue this year. There will again be artwork by Ms. Taylor, along with Deborah Hartley and Cadence Wilson. Tickets will be $5 each or 3 for $10.

Cause: PAWS first fundraiser was held in 2014, marking the 20th anniversary of World Spay Day. Now in its 23nd year, World Spay Day is an annual campaign, begun by The Humane Society of the United States, to shine a spotlight on the power of affordable, accessible surgeries to save lives.

Laura Williams, President of Cause: PAWS, Inc. says “In addition to our low cost spay/neuter outreach, we provide humane education materials to elementary school children in Banks, Franklin, Hart and Stephens counties. Using stories, puzzles and games, they encourage children to treat animals humanely, celebrate their special bond with animals and to help protect animals.” She added “Teachers have told us they especially appreciate how these materials help them meet their non-fiction reading requirements.”

spaghettiOn the menu is SPAYghetti, with or without meat sauce, salad, bread and cookies. Tea or coffee is included. Tickets are $12.50 per person in advance and $15 per person the day of the dinner. To go boxes are available, without the beverage. Wine and beer will be available for purchase at the bar. Tickets are available at XFactor Grill and North Georgia Credit Union in Toccoa, Tugalo Animal Hospital and Vintage Owl in Lavonia.

If you would like to donate a door prize, volunteer or have any questions, please email Sharon Shailer at Sharon@CausePAWS.org.
