This trio has written chart topping songs for the likes of Alabama, Garth Brooks and Mickey Gilley. These three ladies will inspire, empower, and thoroughly entertain you with their music, wit and stories about men, love and dating, surviving cancer, and the power of the spirit.
Join us for an evening of songs, and the stories and people behind them. Becky Hobbs, Benita Hill and Kacey Jones, individually, write songs for themselves and for other entertainers. As a group (www.ACowgirlADivaandAShamlessHussy.com), they will take turns playing songs that they have made famous and that others have made famous. It will be an evening of laughter, heart-touching stories and, we can promise, they will leave you wanting more.
Becky Hobbs (www.BeckyHobbs.com) is “country’s best kept secret”, according to Ralph Novak of People Magazine. As a recording artist, she has had over 20 chart singles/albums, not to mention the songs she has written for Alabama, Conway Twitty, George Jones, Emmylou Harris and others. Becky, a citizen of the Cherokee Nation, composed and co-wrote “Nanyehi-The Story of Nancy Ward”, based on the life of her fifth-greatgrandmother. It premiered in Hartwell, GA and is gearing up for it’s 5th production (Nov. 5, 6 and 7) at the Hard Rock Tulsa. Becky is being inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame on October 16, 2015!
The New York Times Music Writer, Phil Sweetland, says Benita Hill (www.BenitaHill.com) is “Nashville’s greatest jazz singer”. And the songs she has penned have been covered by artists in many genres, Garth Brooks, Isaac Hayes, Kirk Whalum, Crystal Gayle, and have appeared in Broadway musicals. Three of her songs, co-written with Julia Rich, are performed worldwide as part of the Glenn Miller orchestra’s standard repertoire. Benita’s live performances are dynamic and mesmerizing, whether singing her own songs or covering the Great American Songbook. With her trademark sultry and sensitive vocals, she has shared the stage around the world with artists such as Chuck Mangione, Michael Franks, Boney James and Raul Malo.
Best known for her work with Ethel and The Shameless Hussies (MCA) and her comedic albums, Kacey Jones (www.KaceyJones.com) has the gift for making people laugh, including Garrison Keillor, who invited her to share her wit and music on “A Prairie Home Companion” (NPR). A recent contestant on America’s Got Talent (Season 10), Kacey’s original songs have been recorded by Mickey Gilley, David Allan Coe, and Cledus T. Judd. Miss Jones produced the #1 Americana album, “Pearls in the Snow, The Songs of Kinky Friedman” and she is The Official Songstress of The Sweet Potato Queens.
